Environmental/Biological Monitor - Palo Alto We are looking to fill an opening for an Environmental/Biological Monitor term-of-project position in the San Francisco Bay Area (or potentially in other locations throughout California). Responsibilities include monitoring construction activities for compliance with environmental mitigation measures, preparing daily reports, and monitoring for sensitive species. Work is full-time (up to 12 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week for 6 months or more). A Bachelor degree in biology, wildlife ecology, fisheries ecology, botany, or similar field is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental monitoring of construction activities is required. Experience shall also include conducting field surveys for amphibian and reptile species. Candidates with northern California species experience are strongly preferred. Working knowledge of GIS and GPS is strongly preferred. Experience with regulatory agencies is desired. Candidates must have strong communication skills and be organized, detail-oriented, a team player, and self-motivated. Candidates must be physically able to conduct field surveys and/or monitoring in potentially rugged terrain in all weather conditions. Archaeologist - Palo Alto We are looking to fill an immediate opening for a fulltime Archaeologist whose responsibilities will include research, survey work, impacts analysis, significance evaluation, testing, permit assessment, report preparation, and monitoring. A Masters degree in archaeology, cultural resource management, or a similar field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is required. The successful candidate must be physically able to conduct archaeological field surveys in potentially rugged terrain. Additionally, the successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations pertaining to cultural resource management and protection. Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager - Palo Alto We are seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Planner whose responsibilities will include managing projects, supervising and mentoring staff, maintaining positive client relations, providing quality control, and managing the preparation of environmental documents and permitting assessments. Project management experience and expertise in NEPA, CEQA, and other environmental regulations are mandatory. A Bachelor of Science degree in environmental planning, environmental science, city and regional planning, or a similar field is required. A Master of Science degree in a related field is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental consulting in a similar role is required. Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, a team player, and self-motivated. Senior Biologist/Wetland Delineator - Palo Alto We are looking to fill an immediate opening for a fulltime Senior Biologist in our Palo Alto office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: organizing information and data, overseeing and conducting biological fieldwork, staff planning and mentoring, performing technical reviews of documents, writing environmental analysis documents, managing teams of field personnel, managing projects, conducting wetland delineations, and conducting environmental and biological monitoring. A Bachelors degree in biology, wildlife ecology, fisheries ecology, botany, or similar field and at least to 8 years of experience in a similar role is required. An M.S. in a similar field is strongly preferred. At least 2 years of experience delineating wetlands and waters of the U.S. in accordance with the 1987 Corps Wetland Delineation Manual (Technical Report Y-87-1) and the Regional Supplement: Arid West Region is required. Working knowledge of GIS and GPS is preferred. Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, a team player, self-motivated, and able to demonstrate superb quality-control skills. Candidates must be able to manage tasks independently, conduct fieldwork (including hiking in rough terrain), and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
